Do Nepenthes Ventrata need insects all year long?

do the pitcher plants need insects all year long or will they be fine if they don't get any at all? or should i put it outside, but it is getting cold.

Carnivorous plants, like most other plants derive most of their energy from water, CO2, and sunlight. A pitcher plant can surivive on that alone, but typically would only need a few insects a year to survive anyway. You should take it inside for the winter, but there is no need to worry about feeding it or anything.
